Our Department was the first among the geology departments of the country and one of the first departments of the University of Patras to undergo an evaluation and certification of the quality of the undergraduate studies offered. According to the report of the external evaluation committee and the accreditation decision of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE), the Undergraduate Studies Programme of our Department fully complies with the principles of the HAHE Quality Standard (QS) and the Quality Assurance Principles of the European Higher Education Area.
Our Department also offers postgraduate and doctoral programmes, which are in the process of the first national accreditation process.
The Quality Policy of the Department is fully aligned with the Quality Policy of the University of Patras and aims to provide high quality studies in the science of Geology. Our aim is for our Program to be competitive both at national and international levels with a dynamic of continuous adaptation to new technologies and the growing environmental component of the geology profession.
In order to ensure the quality of the educational and research work provided, the Department is in constant cooperation with the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP) and makes every effort to collect and use any evaluation material (student questionnaires for individual courses, internal and external reports).
