The Department of Geology continues the steady upward trend of recent years in terms of successfully applying for funding for research through competitive programmes. Among the new Horizon projects to be funded by European resources is “TRANSFORM” (TowaRds AdvaNced multidiSciplinary Fault ObseRvatory systeMs), with a total budget of 4 million euros. The TRANSFORM research project will be a synergy of six European seismic fault monitoring networks and several universities, institutes and institutions, including the Institut De Physique Du Globe De Paris and the Swiss ETHZ. The University of Patras, through the Department of Geology, will have the role of coordinator in the research to be carried out.
